Merry Christmas to everyone!!
I know this is coming after Christmas but we've been a little busy in our household. From heading out to Pittsburgh one weekend to celebrate with one side of the family, to heading to Allentown to celebrate a partial Christmas early with the other side of the family.
Then with my job being at the hospital, which is always open even during the holidays, I worked both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Then I had previously signed up for overtime for Friday and Saturday, which made me be away from my family right after the holidays for 12 hours a day.
Well let's get on with what my family got during the Holidays. The children got the Blu-Ray copy of "How to Train a Dragon 2" to be splits amongst the boys. They also got another set for their V-Tech Go Go vehicles set, this time including a garage, which has become William's favorite toy out there, including his favorite word to say to us. Michael received almost anything Olaf, his favorite character from the hit movie "Frozen". Bridget got more stuff for her American Girl doll, which she has amassed a collection over the years, as well as some Barbies and Barbie's clothing. She also received the Barbie set for Frozen, including an Anna and Elsa, and a storage carrying case for the dolls and her clothes.
My wife and I got each other some DVDs and books to add to our ever increasing collection. I added "Avengers", "Star Trek", "X-Men: Days of Future Past", and finally "Rise of the Planet of the Apes". My wife added the Blu-ray copy of "The Wizard of Oz", and "Man of Steel".
I have been trying to add only Blu-Rays to our collection just so we can stay more with the times, since DVDs might eventually become obsolete, and since you always get a copy on DVD when you buy the Blu-Ray in the stores.
In the next post, I will try to post some reviews of the items that we all received during the holidays, since I will be able to be at home more, since we are limiting some of the overtime that I take on before the next semester in the school year.
A blog about a geek and his geek family. The missadventures, fun and general love of all things geek.

Well it's been awhile since I've posted to this blog. Well it is now the end of the fall semester for my wife, so she has become a studying monster. She is trying to get her way into the MBA program at her college while she is still completing her bachelor's degree. This would be amazing if she can continue with her grades the way she has been so she can start on her Master's degree. Unfortunately, because it being finals time, there is no time for cosplaying and general geekery. In the upcoming weeks I will post some of the pictures from previous conventions that we have been to in the past 8 years of marriage, including pictures of our kids cosplaying at the ripe old age of less than 1 years old. Our daughter has actually been going to conventions and cosplaying for her entire life and she was born in 2007, 10 months after we got married.
I will also be starting to sell homemade foam tombstones, that we will be getting ready for next Halloween. Even though tombstones are generally a Halloween thing, we will be trying to take a geek turn to some of them, that way we could use them all year round. I will be posting my process of the tombstones on this blog as I go through my first one. We will also be looking at going to more of next year's conventions, so look forward to more pictures and cosplays.
Please tell us what you think of any of the ideas that we have posted onto this blog.

I know this is late but I just wanted to wish a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone that is following our blog. I would like to thank everyone that is reading it because this is my first one and I just want to make sure I am doing a semi-decent one to learn from. In the upcoming weeks leading into the New Year, we are deciding to trend to the geek subject of Cosplay. We have cosplayed for years and have so many costumes just sitting around the house, we have decided to do something with them. My wife came up with the idea of the title of Cosplay wife, in which she will be doing common things around the house while dressed in some of her cosplays. Also if you like some of the costumes that she is wearing, she is a seamstress and does costume design on the side. Please if you like any of our ideas, let us know so we may keep doing some while we are updating our blog.
Also, because it was released today, here is the well done Teaser Trailer for the upcoming Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens.

This weekend we decided to have one of my wife's friends over for dinner with her son. It was originally planned out to be turkey sandwiches with us testing out the idea of smoking an entire turkey in our smoker. It worked extremely well, but it also turned into an entire Thanksgiving dinner including, mashed potatoes and mashed sweet potatoes, stuffing, and even a pumpkin pie, which was brought by my wife's friend. The best part actually occurred Monday after the party, when my wife took some of the remnants of the dinner party and decided to put them on pizza crust, creating a Thanksgiving pizza. It was glorious!!
First you start with turkey gravy as the replacement for pizza sauce.
Then you add on a layer of mashed sweet potatoes.
Followed by a decent layer of the leftover stuffing.
Then a decent layer of the precooked turkey from the leftovers.
And finally add whatever kinds of cheese you would like. In our case we just added the normal mozzarella cheese that is added to pizza.
And finally cook it to achieve your final product and enjoy.
Also, this weekend we received word that at the end of this week, there will be 2 trailers coming to theaters for two movies that are highly anticipated. We will be able to see trailers for the upcoming Jurassic World movie and the Star Wars Episode VII.

On Sunday I was actually off for a complete weekend for the first time in a good couple months so I was actually able to spend the entire time with my family. On Saturday, my daughter had her second basketball game ever. Even though her team lost by a lot, we can finally see her getting herself into the action and not being completely afraid of getting the ball passed to her. Even though most of the children involved in this league are older than her, with her genetics you wouldn't be able to see that when she is almost as tall as any boy two grades ahead of her. Now we just have to work on the rebounding aspect of the sport and not to give up on trying to shoot the basketball.
But also while I was home I found two great videos on a wonderful app that I have downloaded on my phone and the family's tablet called Flipboard. This app will actually take all new articles and videos that have been shared or posted online and get shared by other people and will put them all into a nice location for busy people like myself to still be able to view and read the articles. Here are two links to the videos. The first one was a video of a nice little bird that sounds exactly like R2-D2 from Star Wars and the other one is a parody of Frozen's "Do you want to build a snowman?" performed by members of Breaking Bad singing "Do you wanna build a meth lab?"

Sorry for it to take so long since my last post, but one of the main problems with being a geek as well as a parent for three is the amount of germs that will be introduced into your house. We have all been fighting the same illness in the house for the past week.
Hopefully I will begin to post a little more on being a geek with a family.

Hello everyone. I would like to introduce you all to my all new blog called Geek and Family. We will discuss anything geek and nerdy to raising children in our geeky footsteps. We may also include stuff about working in the hospital, which is what I do, to being a ghost tour guide/mother/full-time student, all while raising our three children. This is my first time so give me some time in getting used to writing a blog.
Enjoy!!
Enjoy!!
